Freshly painted house exterior with a red entry door, renovated by IBD Construction

Renovations & Remodeling

Make the house fit the way you live.

From design to final walk-through, we transform outdated spaces into modern, functional homes. One room or the whole house, with one team managing every trade.

What we build

Four kinds of renovation we take on.

Every renovation starts with what the house needs to do that it can't do today. Then we plan the work around living in it, keep the dust and the schedule under control, and finish the job the way it was drawn.

  • One team for demolition, framing, mechanicals, and finish work
  • Permits and inspections coordinated with your building department
  • Architectural services available when drawings are needed
  • A written estimate before any work starts
Whole-home renovations

Open a floor plan, rework the kitchen and baths, replace what is tired, all under one contract.

Single-room remodels

A family room, a mudroom, a primary suite, a finished basement.

Layout and structural changes

Removing walls, adding beams, moving stairs, raising ceilings.

Exterior refresh

New entry, siding, paint, and trim so the outside matches the inside.

Recent work

From the job site to finished.

Frequently asked questions.

Straight answers to the questions this kind of project starts with.

Can we live in the house during a renovation?
Usually yes. We phase the work by room, seal off the active area, and keep a working kitchen or bath whenever the layout allows. For a whole-house gut we tell you up front if moving out for part of the job makes sense.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes. We coordinate the filings and inspections with your town's building department as part of the project.
How long does a renovation take?
It depends on scope and permit timing. A single room is usually weeks; a whole-home renovation is months. You get a schedule with the estimate.
Do I need an architect?
Not always. Cosmetic work and many single-room remodels do not need drawings. Structural changes do, and architectural services are available through IBD.
